Dominic White takes the business aspects of his portrait and commissions studio very seriously and treats all his clients in a courteous and professional manner.

Dominic White paints in an opaque watercolor which dries very quickly thus avoiding the months long drying process oil paintings require to properly cure before framing.

All artwork is produced with professional quality mediums on archival materials. Dominic only uses paints rated for maximum light fastness. All artwork is sealed with a protective moisture and UV barrier.

It is always better for the finished artwork if all reference photos are taken by the artist.

If it is not possible for the artist to take the photos, he will work with you to discuss the kinds of photos required.

All photos are digital, there is no film or printing charge.

Because most of the portraits will be produced from photographs preliminary sketches and color roughs are usually not necessary and not included in the price. They can be requested at an additional cost.

Travel and lodging expenses may apply for photo reference taken outside the greater Portland, Maine area.

Certain commissions (paintings from black and white photos, historical scenes or depictions where no photographic reference is available) will require research, preliminary sketches, and color roughs. These costs will be estimated in an initial quote.

Paintings do not include frames. Drawings include a white or ivory mat that can be custom cut to your framing specifications.

Paintings on Cradled Panels are modern, attractive, and can be hung without framing of any kind. They are available in the following sizes:
