Portrait Drawings
Black and white portrait drawings are a more affordable portrait option but their lack of color doesn’t make them any less of an emotional and meaningful work of art.
These portraits are created with professional quality grayscale pastel pencils from photographic reference provided by the client.
Technical Information
Portrait drawings are done on acid-free, archive quality Canson Mi-Tientes drawing boards. Mi-Teintes boards comply with ISO 9706, which meets the highest standards of preservation and longevity.
The pastel pencils are professional quality and have a high lightfastness rating and are sealed with a UV protective fixative to provide even more protection.
Despite the lightfastness of the materials, portrait drawings should be matted and framed under glass and hung out of direct sunlight for maximum longevity.
Portrait Drawing Rates
A simple portrait is a black and white pastel pencil drawing of one subject with no background.
Complex portraits are the same as above, but with a second subject or a detailed background.
